Future Band Members!
The best thing our students can do to imrpove and continue playing their instruments is to take private lessons. It gives at least one time a week to get out of the house and make music!
For students who have already been taking lessons, Summer offers an opportunity to work on fundamentals and new music outside of the band hall. Summer is also a great time to start lessons for students that have not taken them before.
Private teachers are happy to work around planned family vacations. Just be sure to communicate with them ahead of time.
Taking lessons over the Summer is the best way to gurantee a spot with private teachers during the school year. Many of their schedules fill up quickly when school begins in August.

PISD MS Band Camp
Dates: Monday, June 1st- Friday, June 5th, 2026
Times: 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. with a pizza party and concert on Friday lasting until 2:00 p.m.
Location: Plano Senior High School - 2200 Independence Pkwy, Plano, TX 75075
FEATURES OF THE PLANO I.S.D SUMMER BAND CAMP
Outstanding directors will serve as guest conductors and faculty
Full band and small group instruction are included in the experience
The camp will culminate with a pizza party and final concert on Friday afternoon
Tuition includes daily instruction, printed music, daily treat, camp T-shirt, and celebration pizza party!
Bus transportation can be provided from PESH or PWSH at an additional cost.
$115 for camp only
$165 for camp plus busing from one of PISD’s High Schools (PWSH or PESH))
Registration for Camp is a 2-Step Process: Both Payment and Registration Form are to be completed online on our Band Camp Web site: https://sites.google.com/pisd.edu/pisdmssummerbandcamp/home
Spots are offered on a 1st come, 1st serve basis, so don’t delay! Both the payment and the registration form must be completed by the deadline to hold your child’s spot for camp!
Registration and payment deadline is Monday, May 11th
Camp details and updates will be e-mailed to registered parents/guardians in late May.

Plano Symphony Summer Program
July 6-10 and 13-17
Shepton HS
No cost for PISD students.
The program is open to any students in grades 3-12 that play any woodwind and brass instrument, as well as percussion, piano, harp, and strings.
My 8th grade son participated in this program last year and had a great time! Plano ISD students can participate in the two week program at NO COST, but there is limited space available.

The camp is June 29th - July 2nd at Plano Senior High. This is our 18th year, and we are excited to have David Heyde ( Associate Principal Horn - Dallas Symphony ) as our Guest Artist this year.

Clearly Clarinet Camp
Please consider joining other outstanding clarinet students for the 9th Clearly Clarinet Camp! This year’s CCC=Clearly Clarinet Camp will be held in Plano at Vines High School. It’s a wonderful opportunity for clarinet and bass clarinet students who are rising 7th graders to students entering college to learn about the clarinet, work with amazing teachers, meet professional clarinet players and play fun, challenging literature. Many of our students return year after year! It is a super fun week of music, performing and memory making.
There are camp divisions for each level of student along with our AMAZING advanced division: Advanced Clearly Clarinet Academy or ACCA.
ACCA is an audition based opportunity for students who are all region/all state level. ACCA students spend their day working with other high level students on Orchestral Excerpts and have the unique opportunity to play in a traditional masterclass setting with our clinician, Marci Gurnow from the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Chastine Hofmeister leads our ACCA division. To be in ACCA, sign up by the May 8th deadline and we will send you a link to submit a recording. All submissions will be heard by our team and you will receive notice of acceptance by June 1. We recommend recording your solo or all region music for a quick and easy audition submission. It is a unique opportunity for students to work on traditional orchestral excerpts!
All levels will have the opportunity to:
Attend a general masterclass with DSO’s Marci Gurnow (Sponsored by Buffet)
Play in small and large ensembles with professional coaching
Attend Faculty recitals
Perform ensembles in a final concert on Thursday afternoon
Learn FUNdamentals daily
Enjoy our theme of Back To The Future with music from many time periods.

(Student supervision from as early as 8:30 to as late as 4:00.....hopefully this helps some parents out! :)
$300 for regular Camp Registration
$350 for Camp Registration with ACCA audition
On time deadline for camp registration: May 8. An additional $50 will be added to late registrations. Registration is closed on June 1.
ACCA Registration will be closed after May 8.
